I have been a gear head since I was 5 when I was dropped on my head and that's when it all began. I have to many projects not enough time and money to finish them all. I spend my weekend mornings watching the power block then I am out in the garage the rest of the day working on my project cars.

looks good. I have done a few F-bodies. Definitely don't like working on the engine in the car. Air Power Systems (APS) makes a wicked twin turbo kit for the f-body in case you are looking to go forced induction later on.

I am thinking TLC (The Learning Channel). Could be Discovery Channel. Either or, same company owns both channels anyways.
Re: Anyone been screwed over Lately?

the attorney general office said there was nothing they could do about it.... thats alright though, I am riding up around there with a friend to pick up a car. I will just stop by and pay the guy a visit.

indeed. I never gave that a thought. I am going to look into it.

I got screwed over today. Mail came and the turbo I bought from an individual in Michigan didn't pack it. He's not a member of this forum. It was missing the turbine housing, and the blades were exposed. The turbo is rather rare, and once the guy got his money he threw in a box and put it in the mail. Wrote on the box "this side up". Like UPS is going to look at a package with a crayon with and arrow point in a direction. I should feel fortunate that I received the turbo at all, but it is an expensive paper weight now.
What gripes me besides the fact he was negligent in packing the turbo is that he did the same thing to another guy who purchased a turbo from him as well. I found that out after the fact, when I another member contacted me saying the same thing happened to him as well. The guy told me the exact same story about what all this clown told me... said he had been waiting a month and had not been reimbursed after the guy said he was filing a claim with ups, but he had not been contacted by the seller, or ups. Then the guy won't return pm's, return a phone call or anything. I might catch a ride to Dearborn Heights with a friend who is going to pick up a car and pay this joker a visit, or inflict some pain upon him, just for the point of screwing not 1 but 2 people over on the same thing.
Re: 2008 Accord Sedan V6 Engine Problem
November 12, 2009 by jrod
I owned a hyundai and it had way to many problems.... never going to buy one of those again... I was saying "buy a so called "American Car" because the majority of the money will stay in the states and not go over seas. I think the accord is made in Greensburg Indiana like 30 minutes away from me... but I am not for sure what car Honda is making there. Unions are a good thing, but sometimes I think they have frivelous fights with companies over nothing, like they are wanting more and more, I think the unions should fight to keep there jobs but hold their ground when it comes to pay cuts etc.
American manufacturing is going to be gone. NAFTA has fouled everything up, and that should have never been allowed because it does not benefit our country at all. It has become ridiculous. When they came out with the cash for clunkers they should have only allowed the to apply to GM, Ford, and Chrysler. The big three. And in my opinion cash for clunkers should have never been allowed. I went to a salvage yard looking for a hard to find part for my car, and there were 2007+ models sitting in there with locked up engines.

4th to last one is my favorite, they're all funny and I can see how they are true accident reports
Re: 1970 BAGGED CADILLAC HEARSE with COFFINS
November 5, 2009 by jrod
thats a neat concept of the coffin shape muffler. I like the hearse, not a fan of the super huge wheels. 18" is the biggest I go on anything I have built. Do you make those mufflers in stainless?
Re: Starbucks , what is THAT about?

Their coffee is the worst, it is absolutely horrible. The people that go there and drink their coffee are "eccentric" and they like writing screen plays or novels in public because "what's the point of writing if no one can watch you type"
Re: How do electric cars do in collisions?
October 31, 2009 by jrod
I saw the Tesla on Top Gear, pretty cool for an electric car..... smugness + uncool = prius, The car kinda reminds me of a lotus exige. If it were my car and if I could afford that particular I would be sick. I never would have thought a prius would never have had enough power to shove a car under a mini van.

Is my perspective screwed up or do you have the engine in the back of that thing?
-e-merlin
its in the front, he is running an I beam axle, look at the edge and you king see the steering knuckles, king pin etc. The reasosn it looks like its the rear of the car is because of the red pan hard bar that's going in front of the axle. (optical illusion) I had to take a double take myself

I did a stereo install in a 99 Freightliner Classic for my dad, we since sold the truck. Had 3200 watt stereo in it. It was fun wiring it because, when I managed to get in the dash and wire in the headunit i found that all of the wires were yellow and did not have any numbers on them. I ended up running all the wiring for the speakers under the cab because there was nowhere to go in the cab with them. When I installed the speakers in the overhead I had to drop the headliner, and overhead compartment itself and naturally the air horn went off. Kept the amps under the bunk where the qualcomm unit used to be. The best thing of all is that I did not take away any storage space in the truck. It took me about a week to get the entire stereo set up with the fiberglass enclosures etc I had to make.
WTB: International Harvester Scout, and a Schwitzer S200G turbo for another project
October 18, 2009 by jrod
I am looking for a 4x4 International Scout from the early to late 60's. It can be a complete basket case as long as it runs and drives. My commuter car died and went to the salvage yard. (Didn't wreck it, a fuel injector stuck and the engine grenaded. cost more to fix the car than what the car itself is worth so I sold it to the local salvage yard for close to blue book value.) I don't know what those old scouts go for now a days, my dad has owned several over the years and said they are great for the winter time.
As for the turbo, it is for my mustang. The Schwitzer S200G is typically found on a deutz tractor, I bought one for cheap, that is like brand new, however, I cannot seem to find another one.
Thanks in advance
