I am happy to announce that FINALLY the Marines have given our son Joe his Sargent stripes. He passed his tests well over a year ago but for what ever reasons(well one was too many Sargents in his plattoon 
) didn't give them to him until yesterday. The family is very happy for him and Joe said there are many more stripes to come. He also said he likes his 2 pay increases, one for his stripes and the other because of his yrs in.
I guess I'll have to address him as Sgt Weimer from now on,lol. Just one more thing to be proud of when I talk about our son

wow, thats awesome your son is a sergeant in the marines. The military works in strange ways on a lot of things, especially promotions.

Just a short update on the Sarge....
Since posting this he has gotten married to his girlfriend of 2.5yrs before being ship out for more training.
He also has changed his MOS from being a mechanic/driver for the AAV unit to Special OPS. It seems they wanted Joe to sit behind a desk instead of wrenching on the AAV's and Joe wasn't going to have any of that so he decided he needed a new challenge and asked for a transfer and got it.
So ladies & gentlemen I would like to introduce you to Sargent Joseph Weimer and Danielle his wife.
