I don't like to use flux core wire but the house i bought only has a attached garage so I'm forced into leaving the door open so not to get fume and such in the house wind and welding gas don't play nice with each other. That being said I'm in the middle of this frame project on my 72 Mustang and I keep runnig into the same problem. The wire is getting hung up inside. The first time it happened I thought it was from the liner gettting old and dirty, but it happened again with a new liner after about 10 hours running time/ three or four days.
I make it a point not to weld to much at a time because it is a lower dudy cycle welder. The tips were clean and the correct size for the wire. Because it is soft flux core wire it is too soft to puul out of the liner it just snaps. Does any body have an idea why this is happening cause its starting to piss me off. Like Bill Bixbe sail don't make me angry, you won't like me when im angry. LOL
I never had any trouble running solid wire with gas . Should I just go back to solid with a couple of box fans in the garage windows to vent the fumes or is there another problem here. Any info would be great so I can get back to getting this part of the job done.

A simple question to you did you switch the polarity on the welder for the flux core ? I don't know if the wrong polarity will cause the problem that your having though. I made that mistake once and the molten wire just splattered everywhere instead of making a bead.

Spent most of my time today messing with this thing instead of getting work done. I'm sure it is a simple problem, i'm waiting for Red Fox to say It's just this over here ya big dummy. Can't mess around any more I have to do the unthinkable, ask my father in lay to use his till I'm done with the frame, trunk floor and some other little things here and there. That would not be a problem but he is always make fun of my little Craftsman buzz box telling me to use his instead. This ones gonna be hard on the pride boys! CRAP!!!
