Just wondering if anybody has any info on T 10 trannys. I just picked up this T-10,bell (small block Ford),flywheel, and old clutch pack, shifter and such. The guy I bought it from said he was told it came from a 65 ford. The bell fits my 351 w , but I dont have any real info on it like where it came from gear ratios, and so on . Messing with this trans is going to be a new thing for me. My problem is I have never made a trans swap (auto to manual) before so I dont know how to brake down the codes in order to gather up info. If any body has anything to help me that sure would be great.
The #s on the side are
T10H-1
W.G.DIV
W-1
L18
T10 H-7B
W G DIV
M 15 65

That would be cool Lou, this way I could see what I'm getting my self into before I turn it into a big pile of parts and use all those words ma told us not to say. Do you know the difference between a T 10 and a Super T 10. How strong are they, what are their week points? Is the rebuild pretty much a straight foreword deal (with the DVD)? Where do I get a rebuild kit or do I just buy parts as needed? Going into it blind but not afraid.

I know that answer to the difference between a Super T10 and T10. The word Super is the difference. A Super T 10 is a stronger transmission, and the shift pattern is closer together. It can handle more abuse than a regular T10. Its is heavier also. A T10 is basically a truck transmission, shift pattern isn't as tight and you cannot shift it as fast etc.

Shoes..
All i can tell you is it was made 12-15-65..Should have a 28 spline output shaft (the better one) was put behinde the 406..390..289.and 260 V8s in Ford & Merc's
AKA as a 413 due to the shifter location on the tailshaft..They had a problem jumping out'a 2nd gear and pushed Ford to build the Toploader.!!
Not much help BUT it should work fine for a low HP driver.. Good Luck...Jay....
