First I would like to thank Lou Santiago for hosting this web site.
I started project 69 firebird, the buck starts here. Day 1 July 8, 2009 we stripped the cars interier, found hardware, and sized up the job. It certainly looks like a long road ahead but as a father son project I still have seven years to complete it. My son cleaned up interior parts and put them aside, I started to repair the rear end panel with some metel work. I never took on a project of this size it needs a lot of work, everywhere (at least for me), but I will get the job done just like many hot roders before me have. We intend to make it a daily driver and do it on a budget, ha ha. I bought the car and it came with some extra parts, door hoods front fenders, grills, exhaust, 2 turbo 350 trannys and a 350 C.I. motor and a extra front sub frame. Someone before me started to restore it so I have to work around a few things. Never did body work before and its not one of my strong points. I sure can use some pointers on the subject. This is what it looks like so far.  I intend to put in a manuel 4 sp I have left over from my 79 trans am from when i was 18, and a bigblock 455 when I find one. There are some missing parts but thats half the fun of the project. I will keep you up to date as we go along with the project.
and special thanks to cementshoe for geting me back into Hot Roding.

when talking pontiacs there are no big blocks nor small blocks. Pontiac uses what us called an intermediate block, you can start with a 326, 350, 389, 400, or 455 they are all the same block externally. The only differences are the bore and stroke, so you have the perfect platform for a 455. As for budgets haha if you think you have spent exactly what you thought you would have your are missing some receipts.

Nice ride, I have always been a fan of the firebird over the camaro. You dont want to skimp when you build the engine and on the body work. Suspension I reccomend stock or hotchkiss. I am running hotchkiss on the front of my 65 Lemans and its really in the weeds.

Grant makes really nice wood replica wheels that you can get with different horn buttons ranging from the pontiac emeblem to the screaming chicken. For a clutch and brake pedal assembly the 67-69 camaro pedal assemblies will work in your car. Look up a company called ames performance http://www.amesperf.com/ they have really great prices and dont get ripped off from year one on pontiac parts. Ames is far superior and they make parts in house also that other companies do not.

If you put long tube headers on it, dont use hooker, i had to cut the flanges on the set I bought.

Good luck with your project and great find.
