Can a 4 door be a muscle car? is the question that is on my mind.
What i think is yes, as long as it has a V8 and looks cool enough it can be a muscle car.

That depends on what you mean by muscle car. To me in the classic text no only 2drs were considered M/Cs. but todays standereds yes .Only I would call they HiPerformance .Other countries Like Austrailia have had some pretty muscular 4dr cars. Just my .02.

to me muscle car means something with 2 doors and lots of power. I would not consider a 4 door a muscle car because they are geared more to family cars, however, it if had a big engine and lots of power, I would still say its a performance car or sleeper but not a muscle car. I reserve the words muscle car for cars in the 60's and 70's and today's 2 door american cars ie mustang, camaro, challenger that make big power and have an in your face look.

A 4 door can be a sport touring sedan but not a muscle car. Dodge should not have put the Charger nameplate on the current version ( they also shouldn't have put it on that glorified Omni thingy in the 80's either ). I dunno, four doors on a musclecar just ain't right , man.

There is a guy that shows up to the big all-ford show in PA. every year, he has a fully documented 60s(cant remember what year) Ford Galixie wagon that came from with a 428-4 speed. Lots of paper work saying it is the real deal. So I guess there is always a gray area.  Don't forget The Little Red Express. Wait thats a different subject.

If it makes 500 ponies I might withdraw my previous statement. It would have to at least have shaved rear door handles to earn the muscle car tag

I was talking old cars from the 60's. I don't refer to new cars that are non american as muscle cars.

Why not? Plenty of other people do.

I know of a Chevy Kingswood estate wagon with a COPO motor in it with all the paper work. Besides a muscle car is a stripped down no frills car with a big ass motor in it. That is just what most old Police cars are.
