Hey, guys- I'm just a po-boy with a fairly clean daily-driver 70 chevy C10. It's got the 402 big block in it with a late-model disc brake conversion on the front. It had the springs heated and collapsed when I got it, and I'm still driving it that way. I've checked around for drop spindles, etc. but it's pricey as hell! I thought about putting stock springs back in it and cutting the cups out like I saw Lou do on the LeMans build to lower it, but I don't know how it worked? I'm guessing it rode about the same as dropped spindles? And on the back, it has heated coils to drop it and it's dang near sitting on the stops but still isn't as low as I'd like. What's the best way to drop this thing safely without spending a ton of money and still be able to use it for a work truck? Or am I asking WAY too much?

it will ride the same because your not changing the spring rate. But you can't go crazy with the pocket. The most you want to do is 2" I can do a set for you. If you did springs and pockets that is a 4" drop right there.

Alright, with my limited time and budget I haven't had time to tackle the lowering aspect of my '70 yet. But last weekend I crawled underneath and did some measuring, and realized how stinkin' low the front crossmember sits! I'm kind of thinking I may be better off to clip the frontend with a Camaro suspension? I have a '77 Trans'Am that I could rob the front frame section from- That would give me a closer-ratio box, swaybar, more ground clearance, and hubs that I could find rims for a lot easier! Has anyone on here ever done this swap before? I clipped a '57 Chevy truck a long time ago with a Nova subframe and it wasn't too bad at all. The only thing I wasn't happy about was how low the engine sat in the bay. Is the '70 pretty close? Is it worth the hassle? Gimme some input! (please!)

I'll be Honest with you. Get a Porter Built Dropmember it is worth the money. Nate builds a nice piece.
I don't know why his site isn't coming up but call him.
