Gregv..Check behinde the timing chain and the flywheel..see if the block has a 352 boss on the block..most fe blocks had that ..if it does the cheap fix is an aftermarket 428 crank, rods and 390 pistons ( boring will be required) also available aftermarket. ford called it a 410 thats all they did back in the day..hope that helps..i'll talk to a local guy that does all those old fe's he might know if that 360 block had any weird spec changes. good luck..

I'd say jerk that boat anchor out and put in a FE with some cubes. A Cleveland or Windsor has almost the same cubes and less weight than that thing. That's a truck engine.

Greg..As i thought the 360 is a block that can be converted to a 410..bore is the same as the 390 but the 428 is an external balanced motor so new balancer and flywheel will be needed..for more info check the link below.
http://www.clubhotrod.com/forums/archive/index.php?t-5312.html You can make it run..the big advantage over a windsor is torque..a good cam and you can make a torque monster at low RPM HP too..
a windsor can be build also but it takes higher RPM to get the same..a big block is a big block after all..good luck what ever you do.
