Don't know if anyone cares, but this is the beast I've been working on. I hope to drop it in my 73 Olds Cutlass Supreme during the winter. I still need a stout Th-400, and maybe a better rear-end.

It's a 1969 Oldsmobile 455 Big Block (F block), with big valve "C" heads (actually... they're 2.09:1 and 1.72:1 exhaust), with an Eldorado 455 H.O. "K" intake. It's been punched out to a 468, with .030 overbore TRW forged pistons, forged rods (factory), Joe Mondello 20-22 cam, Crane gold roller rockers.

I found these cool wire looms that are used on the original "50s" Oldsmobile motors (small blocks)... so I thought it would be neat to try to adapt that to the big block. I bought them, painted them, and then welded a set of nuts upside down on top of some chrome big block valve covers. It didn't come out too bad!!!

I know... the garage is messy. I've cleaned it up since... I was just moving stuff around and emptying out the boxes, etc... and figured I'd take picture of it.

What does a 468 come out to? Is it still a 7.5 liter? Or is it more like a 7.6?

The engine looks great and the looms really makes the engine stand out.

That looks great! My bro had a 455 in his 77 Cutlass. It was pretty wimpy due to the cat and factory single exhaust. It was also a lot heavier than my 73.

I love big engines. The liter size comes out to a big-motha-fucka.

Thats cool! The wire looms are a very nice touch. I love those olds motors. Back in High School we put a 74 455 into my best friends 80 cutlass that came with a V6. That was fun. Make sure to post pics of you burning up the tires once that motor is in the car! :)

Love those 455Olds motors, my buddy had one in his 69 or 70 Olds 98 drop top in high school, big ugly car with a sick amount of torque. Nailing it off the line did nothing but slide that big monster around like it was on ice. With your lighter car, that things gonna be a hand full.

Cool engine. I'm gonna get one of those one day. All I have now is my little 350.
Mine runs pretty good, I can't imagine how yours is gonna run.
