Got over to the drivers side quarter and the passenger side fender everything was pretty much the same as the other side except this fender did not have to be rebuilt as the drivers side did. We used flex flange to build out the inner wheel well same as the othe side, and glued the quarter to it with Norton speed grip and then welded it up top flanged and seam welded. Jim then slathered on speed grip to the inside of the wheel well to seal everything, the car will rust away before that quarter comes apart. I guess if it was a true resto this part wouldn't make it but these inner wheel wells are near impossible to find. Go back to work on it tommorrow will post more pics then.

Things are taking shape! What color is it going to be? Got a name for it? I've always thought "Vlad the Impala" would be cool...

Vlad the Impala I like that. Ermine White is the color it had when it was made and we are going back to that. The only difference will be 2 stage should shine real bright plan on getting some Torque Thrusts with some BF Goodrich Radial TA's kind of retro looking. Got the quarters and trunk lid in primer, the right front fender got massaged and filled the rest of the trim holes filled, not a bad day. Back to it in the morning and hopefully get the hood done, let Jimmy do his magic.

Suggestion : Look at POR-15 paint for top and bottom of your floorpans and trunk. A bit expensive but well worth it. Just don't put it on areas exposed to direct sunlight as it will fade quickly.

Today we got all the body work done everthing is in primer. Jimmy finished up the last door and shot it some spots on the roof needed some touch-up I painted the front valance. Tommorow we block it and then spray the Monster, PPG basecoat-clearcoat "Ermine White". One other Buddy is going to come and help Jimmy paint it because we want to shoot it all in one shot, I will post the pics when its done.

White is the last color I would put on a car, but that looks fantastic. Not plastic model white. That's going to be very cool. Is the interior going to be black or red?

Monday we spent all day used the DA sander with 1000 grit and then wet sanded with 2000 grit and buffed and polished, then I had to go to work. Jimmy finished up today. The extra money I spent on paint was worth it the gloss is a mile deep, I went with the original color because it is a sort of a resto-mod, and I like white. The interior is Light blue and all original the old women I bought it from had it covered in clear vinyl, some of you older guys remember that, and it is in very good condition. Wheel wise I was going to go with torq-thrust, but I ended up spending more on paint than I planned so so ended up getting some 15x8 rallye wheels with some baby moon caps, sometimes you have to compromise. I have a line of duty funeral tomorrow for a brother who died after a fire last week, so we'll get back on it Thursday. More pics to come.

Glad to hear your not jacking it up and putting 26's under it. Sorry that you have a funeral to go to, they are tough. There is nothing wrong with rallye wheels, i think they look good. For the trunk if you spatter paint it, put a coat of clear on top of it because spatter doesnt seal or hold up well to any type of moisture.
