Lou, here are some pictures of my newest project 67 Impala, this is the one I got from a real "Blue hair" she could barely see over the wheel, I think thats how the dent got in the front hood as she parked it in the garage. As you can see the interior is mint and for a 41 y/o old car it's not in bad shape.

My Plans:
Get the bodywork done and painted, needs quarter patch work, lower front fender work, front nose which I started, after all I want to drive it.
Possibly Torque thrust wheels and bigger meats, or stock wheels sandblasted and coated with baby moons.
Engine will get a 4 barrel, headers, and dual exhaust , and a general clean up in the engine comp.
I am looking into an Airride system if I can afford it,( I do have a kid in college) if not will cut a coil out of front spring to lower it a bit to improve the stance.
Hidden stereo and keep the original am radio where it is.

Its a cruiser not a racer but its gotta sound and look good.

Sometimes, you get lucky, only took me 55 years. Just ordered all the sheetmetal the other day, now just have to find the time to work on it before it gets too cold, garage is not big enough to work in. Will post pics on progress.

I was thinking of telling you guys a little about myself, and why I get all excited about my 67. You can probably figure out that I am a Fireman in NYC, I love my job and can't think of doing anything else, but living on Long Island is ridiculousely expensive, and for 20 odd years have worked 2 jobs(I'm a Cabinetmaker also) so my wife could stay home and take care of the kids. 7 years ago 9/11 changed everything, I survived the collapse of the North Tower, but the company I worked in at the time Squad Co. 252 lost all 6 members working that day. We made a promise to the families lost to not leave that site until all missing members were found, we found the remains of 2, Lt. Tim Higgins and FF Kevin Prior, but never found the rest, we were down there in presence till the site was closed. I got promoted to Lieutenant and presently work in Rescue 4, which is in Queens, the worlds largest rolling toolbox. This company lost 11 men on that day. So tomorrow I will go in to work, as I do every Sept. 11th and stand roll and honor the men we lost, 343.

So what does this have to do with anything? I live each day as if it's my last, and when the chance came to get the Impala I jumped on it because who knows, may not be there.Yeah I get grief from the old lady, but it's worth it. I agree with most of the guys on here Lou is very talented and when he was on TV I learned a lot from him, keep it up and the best in your endeavors.
Never Forget the 343

Bob

p.s My Uncle Harry, who was also a Seabee, used to say " Any day above ground is better than taking a dirt nap in the marble garden" crude but it works for me.

Cheeseman, I want to add my thanks. I'm out here in the middle of the country, but I'm with you guys there in spirit. Those so called "heros" from the sports and entertainment world pale in comparison to what you guys do every day. When your brothers answered the call on that fateful day, they didn't know it would be their last. They gave everything they had to get as many out as possible. That's a hero.
