The Bull Dog
I am starting on the 3rd year of this project and have a long way to go, but it is a rather big undertaking as I am pretty much building a new Top Kick that will look like a 56.
The drive train consists of a full roller 496 stroker big block Chevy A Allison 540 auto transmission directing power though a Brown & Lipe 3 speed auxiliary transmission (under, direct, and overdrive) and on back to a 2 speed rear end. The directional control is being handled by an International Scout power box and an AGR Rock Ram and pump, all rolling on a set of 10.00X22.5"tires and being pulled to a stop by a heavy duty master cylinder boosted by a hydro boost power assist.
When finished she will have all the luxuries such as AC, power windows and door locks, lots of sound deadening and a full custom interior.
I want to paint it that peal green color that you see on a mallard ducks neck with a real long and thin set of ghost flames.

This is what originally pushed her down the road a 261 about 140 HP

Here is the transplant a 496 ci stroker about 450 HP and 550 pounds of torque

This is how she looked when I first got her
She just looks like a Bull Dog dont she LOL
And after a minor face lift

I think I will have the grill and bumper chromed and paint the grill surround a gunmetal metallic gray with this 1/4"chrome trim tape around it

And here is a couple showing off the newly powder coated wheels and new tires.

Currently fitting all the drive train in to place just to make every thing fit before tearing it all back out for a final detailed assembly.
I still have to mount the auxiliary transmission get it set up with the proper yokes and have drivelines built. I need to get a PTO that will fit the Allison 540 so the dump box will do its thing. I have to make all new brake lines and plumb the power booster and steering box to the pump for the new steering and braking systems and figure out what I want to control the two transmissions with and get them control mounted along with a cooler for the Allison. So I have a lot to do before the detail work even starts. I want to get it up and running then use her a little as a test to make sure it all functions like planned before moving on to detailed work both on the chassis and the paint and body.
I am hoping for a working rolling billboard of a show truck for my business when completed at this point I am starting to think I must be out of my mind LOL

Lou I have a 56 1and 1/2 ton GMC Factory V8 truck they had a 317 Pontiac in them and will soon have another 1 and 1/2 ton 55 or 56 Chevy. The GMC is fairly rusty but it is in all the normal taskfoce truck places to rust. The Chevy that I will be hauling home looks to be in better shape and has a running 261 in it, both trucks have SM420s for transmissions

BTW Lou can you get a spell check put up on the board for for non spelling dipshits like ME LOL
