Looks Cool Lou, Building them at ride height makes everything easier.
I for the last couple of days I've been making some cool brackets for the top bars of the Buick. I took some other brackets that I use some bar stock cut it down to fit the hole.
Welded it all together. Then I took some flat stock welded it to the bracket.
Then I tacked them to the frame. I'll make the gussets then weld it all up and start the bottom ones.
Lou, How are you cutting the brackets?
Bob
The car is lookin awesome. I like what you did with the frame rails. Oh yeah nice boobs to Lou!! They look good too.
I like the "sharpie" bolts that you’re using for the uppers. What is the grade rating for a sharpie?
The Sharpies are a special grade SUPER TOP SECRET I can't talk about them. Next question please. I'm getting ready for my debate. Those brackets are laser cut I have about 52 different brackets I use. I'm working on getting them in the forsale section soon.
Will the top links be mounted in double shear?
That's some beefy rolling stock there, Lou! Is that what she's going to be wearing to the ball, or are those just for the mock-up?
Brackets turned out great.
The mounts will be double shear and those are the wheels
Here are some of the mounts that I made for the front of the lower bars.
You might see the other brackets in some of the pictures. I decided to change them because they didn't look good. That is right looks do come into play.
This is one of the hiem joints that I got from Aurora I like there stuff. The crazy spacer comes from a local store.
Looking good Lou. How are you planning on setting up the pan hard bar? Do you have a bracket to attach to the third member?
Wow, that tubing worked out great.
could you have used a standard 90 degree? Well... That looks great!
Gregv I could have but I had these.
the rear suspension looks cool Lou! cant wait to see how the front turns out!
The rear suspension looks great. In your earlier pics it looked like you had parallel bars so I thought you were going to run a pan hard bar. This set up looks a lot better.
That was a pretty neat way to handle the double shear. a lot more aesthetic than plates/box tube. i'll have to keep that in mind for next time.
